Wanted to use Tettnager and Taurus for the hop additions but could not find them. Used Perle and Hal Mittelfruh as replacements.

We brewed this Rotbier at our brewery, New Magnolia Brewing on a 1 BBL pilot system. The beer turned out very nice. The color was spot on for what I was looking for. The malt bill contributed the perfect blend of caramel, biscuity, and bready flavors. Very nice aroma on the nose. A bit of smoke from the beech smoked malt, Mild hop flavors with the Hallertau Mittelfruh coming thru. The 3 lbs of smoked malt was added just the right amount of smoke flavor, not overwhelming the beer at all. All in all, a very pleasant beer.
