Notes

This is one I find myself going to every trip to Honolulu. So, stuck at home due to COVID-19, I decided to brew my own. I emailed Honolulu Beer Works and asked if they would share the recipe.

I received an aloha e-mail from Roxayne, Director, Brewing Operations and Brewer, giving me the necessary information and several important brewing tips.

Since the recipe they use is for 7 barrels (about 220 gallons or 44 five gallon batches) of beer at-a-time, she and I could only guess-timate the amount of toasted coconut to use for a 5 gallon batch. I'm going to toast and use 9 ounces infused in secondary for 48 hours. For detailed notes see: https://homebrew.kahunapig.us
