Notes

Seldom do you come across Pale British Styles in the modern marketplace. This conundrum, once again, results in a style of beer suited for the more traditionalist homebrewers to synthesis. Admittedly this particular recipe sits between a "Best Bitter" and "English Golden Ale" if one is referring to the BJCP guidelines. 'Guidelines' being the keyword to keep in mind if one is worried. And if you are worried that a beer nerd such as myself will call you out, simply name this ale English Pale Ale to save on the paranoia.

We are very big fans of Maris Otter as a base malt for any Ale style. A malt of true heritage. A grain that harnesses a profile of doughy biscuit-sweet pedigree when used on its own. Drinkability was a crucial factor during the hefty and exhausting process of creating this recipe, so we're building a solid base, medium light to medium body, and light golden hue using Maris Otter and nothing more in our grain bill. Floral Aromatics and dried fruit flavours are provided by an orchestra of East Kent Goldings, Fuggles and Windsor Ale yeast. How has this succinct style of ale been ignored for the last few years in the market? We have no answer that is worthy of a beer that is as sessionable, balanced and nourishing as this one.
