EXBEERIMENT: Based on recipe 110/113 which was a success. My yeast was out of fridge fro a couple of days but vaccume packed so should be fine. Went back to using 4 rather than 2 tsp of cal chloride which I did for long time with success.

Brew day went alright but for reasons I don't get I got an OG of 1044.5 what expecting 1050. new hydrometer and didn't cross check with the old one, but I thought that one was a problem!

DH on Wed, cold crashed sat PM and Kegged Sun.

Kegging
FG 1010 (used three hydrometers and went wit hthe middle one as they were all 1 point apart!). ABV is 4.6%.
-Aroma and flavour of Galaxy is coming through well. The flavour upfront is very good. Once the tounge is well lubed I am getting a pretty smooth finish with solid bitterness. There is some astringency in the finish but it seems pleasant enough rather than harsh. I think it's a good one.

The only thing I can put the low OG down to is the fact that the grain bag was all twisted up and so water may not have properly reached grain in the sparge. <br />

Tasting:
Tasting at almost 2 weeks in the keg. Beers 118 and 119 were so Bad I threw them out. I do not know what went wrong, but there was a harsh astringent finish. beer 120 was drinkable but just OK and I did not finish all of it. THIS beer is a return to form. Drank against Hazy Jane. The aroma is great and almost as strong as HJ. HJ is sweeter and more golden/darker upfront do overall probably a bit more crystal. But, the finish on mine is fine and I can enjoy it right alongside the HJ. In fact, I prefer my aroma. The galaxy forward hopping is awsome - pinaple, mango. The recipie is a winner and you can return if you wish. The galaxy was also a new bag of hops and citra fresh, so that may make a difference too. (UPDATE). kept drinking and this was an acceptable beer but the finish had an astringency and some bite which is just not as smooth as HJ. So...
