WARNING: Kettle losses > 2% detected which throw off OG calculation for extract/partial mash recipes in batch target 'fermentor' mode. Solution: Reduce kettle losses, misc losses and hops absorption in equipment profile, OR set batch target to 'kettle' and do a full wort boil. See batch target FAQ.

Notes

Based on "May the Schwartz Be With You" as published in Zymurgy magazine.

Using the bag provided, steep crushed grains in 3-6 gallons of water at 160 degrees for 30 minutes. Remove and drain well. Don't squeeze grain bag!

Add extracts and start boiling. Proceed as usual.

I used Crystal hops in the recipe because we don't have Horizon in stock.

2 packs of yeast are provided because lagers want much larger yeast pitches than ales do. Add both at the start of fermentation.
