Same here, I did pretty well in practice examsI forgot to mention, complete my BJCP training.
I'm taking the ethnic path on history and looking at my German and Slovak ancestors for inspiration. My Aunt tells me that my immigrant grandfather used to make some "rot got" wine in the basement when she was a little kid so this is heading me down a path to Tmave Pivo and its variants. The German side of the family has been in America for a much, much longer time with one of the later namesakes being a Draymen for one of the many breweries in Baltimore. According to my uncle, the man didn't speak English too well but he could move barrels.I'm looking forward to challenging myself with these awesome historic beers
My challenge to myself follows one of the common themes here: make the same recipe taste identical batch after batch. I'm always "tweaking this" or "tossing some of that in there" so it'll be nice to hone in on my core recipes.
