What are you drinking right now?

I’m doing Barstow to Peoria on the Harley while Lisa man’s the hay farm. I’m so lucky... :)

Wow! Miriam would love to get rid of me for that long. I miss my bike. Hope you have a safe trip and enjoy every mile of saddle time.

Sneaking a sample of the orange creamsicle ale I kegged last night. Very good citrus smell, thick mouthfeel (I swear I tastes pulp), not heavy on the vanilla. Still need to add the lactic acid to sour it, but it very much reminds me of a mimosa

The Big Texan in Amarillo. Yes, it’s a tourist place, but one of the best steaks around. Met the owner and he fixed me up with a tour with the brewer of their craft beer facility. They make a some really nice beers! I had the IPA and DIPA. A must visit location!!!!

Now that's a steak!

It was lunch but we stopped by firestone walker on the way to Monterey. Tried the bretta rose. They poured me a 3oz under currants for free. Tomorrow Alvarado street in Monterey.

Last vacation installment. Lunch at Alvarado street in Monterey. Lots of malt stacked upstairs. I got a yeast forward ipa and my wife got a heff. I must say I liked the heff better

Dankster Double IPA from Lead Dog Brewing, a proud member of Reno's growing brewing community. This stuff is wonderfully dank, built on a foundation of Mosaic and Columbus and triple dry hoped. Love this beer.

After downing this I'll give NEIPAs one last try. In a recent trip to Bend, OR, I sampled 3 and disliked all of them equally. Since Sierra Nevada is one on my favorite brands overall, thought I'd give their rendition a try. Will post my thoughts on it later.

OK, delved into Sierra Nevada's Hazy Little thing. They don't label it as an NEIPA, rather an unprocessed IPA. I wouldn't even put it in the same category as the NEIPAs I've tried. First taste, I almost thought it was a drier rendition of the Dankster. Sorry we passed on the sixer and only bought a 12 oz. can to sample

. This isn't quite crushable at 6.7%, but I wouldn't mind trying :)

NEIPA SHMIPA. Next time we get together I will treat you to a growler of my Ginny Haze. I was working on it when you were in Bend.

Monday 9/10, we'll be in Bend, on our way to Seattle to meet up with Callie and Miriam's brother from Ireland to begin a trip around BC. We'll likely just grab dinner and sack out. On the way back home we'll be in Bend from mid-day Tuesday, 9/25 until that Thursday AM. If you and Lisa are free the evening of the 25th or any time on the 26th, we'd love to meet up. Just might have a growler of something to swap out :) Will be in touch.

We've been getting lead dog in Chico. They're marketing and selling in Nor Cal. Had a few different ones. All good. Can't beat lake Tahoe water I guess. Inspired the Citra Smash. They put the recipe on the cans. https://www.brewersfriend.com/forum/posts/62844/

Samuel Smith’s Raspberry Ale! Considering I have a Raspberry Blonde that is in the fermenter now, wanted to give this a try. Definitely a beer cooler taste, but for lack of better words, more mature raspberry flavor that blended well with the ale.

Thinking about a small batch of something similar. Not sure I'd drink a full keg.

Drinkin me Lil Ale 3.5 % but has body i recon like 5%r cheers. I must say my first dig a Mosaic its sure got me scratching my head on what my nose is picking up maybe a cross between apricot and subtle fruity pawpaw or mango (i didnt go heavy on late addition BTW). Is that others impressions other than cat piss with this hop..?
