What are you drinking right now?

Lagunitas fresh hop pale ale

Enjoying a Celebration Ale. Great beer, as expected every year at about this time. Found a new clone recipe to try out. Dunno about anyone else, but I've never been able to come close to any Sierra Nevada beer I've tried to clone. Tried several recipes of their Pale Ale, using both the old and newer hop schedules from their web site, and none really come very close. Most were nice, but failed to hit the mark. After standing on the catwalk above their boil kettles and smelling the wort aroma, I know early on in the process that it just isn't gonna be close.

Cheers @BOB357 also enjoying a 2020 Celebration finally! I look forward to drinking this one over the next couple of months.
I 100% agree with cloning Sierra Nevada. I've tried time after time to clone the pale ale and it just doesn't happen.

There's also a bit of Larceny small batch being enjoyed over on the left.

Looks like your not on call anymore:D:p!

No, in fact I've been put on 14 day quarantine. And with American Thanksgiving holiday falling into that, the email I received late this afternoon, from HR today states, I can't return to work before November 30th.
Covid needs to end.
As long as your getting paid ;).

For reference @Hawkbox I used 8g of sulphate in this beer and just relied on my tap water chloride and dropped PH with Phsophoric acid
It's still pretty malty considering the gravity was 1.040 ish and I cut it with cane sugar but I spared not the hops plenty of Sazz went In 100g all up most at FWH and the rest 30mins .

That's the water profile.

Not really right now (as that would be a cup of tea), but last nights:
Since I had to travel to Europe, and coming out of Africa, I am apparently a high risk covid person and have to self-isolate (even though I had to have a negative PCR certificate before I could travel)
So, it's just me, beer and my new best quarantaine-buddy

Yes, I'll get paid from the sick time I've saved up. Even though, people might learn to be more responsible if the person who knowingly exposed 12 people had to pay the lost wages. 9 months into this thing and I still can't believe some peoples lack of common sense. What's the saying? "you can't fix stupid"

Sorry to hear that. I hope the 14 days are uneventful for you. Great news on the vaccine, although we're unlikely to get it before Spring.

Thanks, I guess the next few days will tell. My notice yesterday states I can't return to work till Nov. 30th.
My wife works for UCHealth and several of her co-workers are beginning the 3rd (and final i think) stage of testing the vaccine. My wife and daughter are front line so it's possible they'll be vaccinated relatively soon. Like possibly next month. We shall see.

Our province is going into another lockdown(Badly planned one) because the cases are overwhelming the system again. Until people smarten the hell up this isn't going anywhere unfortunately.

Damn Ben, 4:1 Sulfate in a Pilsner? I would not have thought of that but now I want to try it.

My mom is a maternity nurse and they have had 3 nurses on her floor catch COVID and have bad symptoms. She worked with 2 or the, so has have 2 different quarantine/wait on a test periods. My brother’s wife is a dentist and she just ended a quarantine that closed the dental office for two weeks when a hygienist caught it. That hygienist gave it to her son, his wife, and 2 year old. I coached the son and taught his wife. Small town...but all around

So far no one I know directly has caught it, but a coworker has lost 10 family members to it in India so he's freaked right out. I know of a lot, we're a city over 1M and Alberta is doing better than most but we're losing control.

And pretty smooth considering not at all too bitter but I think IBUs are in the mid to high 20's.
I really think it's the yeast it just softens it up and gives a lovely malty mouthfeel. It's not near as dry as I expected and it finished 1.008.
Brewing hay perplexing sometimes:rolleyes:

On the vaccine stuff looks like were beginning manufacturing of the oxford one.
Knowing Australia some people wont even want it interesting times ahead I wonder what the government will do....
