What are you doing with homebrew today?

View attachment 18206 And here is the rest of the lineup that I brought home from Total Wine. I have had Obsidian Stout and the Anchor Holiday beer in years past, but the other 3 are new to me. I’ll post as I discover. Obviously not all stouts, but dark beers none the less.
Nice haul! Can't wait for the reviews

Filling kettle and milled my grains ready for my Schwartz lager brew day.

Nice! I’m with @Sunfire96 ….reviews please! L-R, I’ve only had 1,2 and 4, but I do have firm opinions on those 3. Would love to hear your take.

Black IPA
One of my favorite styles that I can rarely find at a brewery. My wife and I recently cracked the last two bottles of a BIPA I brewed a year ago. Yes, the hops were more subtle but it still had a great flavor.

Wifey does the ground turkey thing too for chilli...have you ever had white chilli? Hommie instead of bean!
My chili turned out really well. I did not follow any recipe, just threw it together. The beans were actually Navy Beans, in dry form that I cooked before adding to the chili. It had some nice background heat from the use of the different chiles. My wife raved about it all night. She is still talking about it this morning. It might go nicely on a bed of pasta.
I don’t think I have ever had white chili, but I do like hominy.

Today I watched my tilt show no drop in gravity. Temperature changes are registering. I can smell it fermenting through the airlock. It’s in a keg so I can’t see it but something is happening. Wonder if I’m due for a battery change? Before I get “tilt hate” mine works quite well usually:)

Watching my Hoppy American Brown Ale send the occasional bubble through the airlock, knowing I still have a few weeks to go before it’s ready. Lining things up to bottle my Azacca Pale Ale tomorrow. I’m going to wait until after Thanksgiving for my next brew, as I have a fair amount of beer in the pipeline. In the meantime, I have some stout and porter research to conduct:)

Black Butte Porter by Deschutes is my favorite porter, if you're looking for suggestions for your research :)

Popped a cap on my Kona Big Wave knock-off. Quite yummy, albeit, just a little more bitter than expected or wanted. I'm thinking reduce the bittering hops just a little. Good nosed, excellent head, and other than a little chill haze, wonderfully clear. Just a smidge darker than expected, too. Perhaps a touch too much Crisp 60? OG was 1.050. FG at 1.006. Is the elevated alcohol (5.78%) possibly part of the bitterness. too?

This is a REALLY thick beer. It doesn't even pour out of the glass with it turned sideways. ;)

You no chilled that batch no?

If you mean during fermentation, yeah, I don't have anything for controlling temperature. Why you ask? Remember, I'm the homebrew dummy. I've got the brewing part down pretty good, but still don't know hops and yeasts as well as I need to. Getting better with the yeasts and how to use them, and what flavors to expect from them, but hops are some kinda voodoo I haven't quite wrapped my head around.
