What are you doing with homebrew today?

Got all set up to brew tomorrow.

Getting ready to keg Al's Pee. My tilt says it is ready...

Built a ghetto style enclosure last night for the PID (dont copy me ANYONE) :p.
I wired in a 12v power supply and fan to cool the SSR (no heat sink).
Doing a side by side with stc1000 on the temp measurement pretty much within a degree both.

This is the back of the pid the element I wired sepperate to the power outlets that's for pump and Aux supply.

Hey @Trialben are the mains in AU 220 and 50 Hz like the UK? Just wondering.

I just bottled Herm’s Amber Ale, fermented with Voss. After reviewing my notes, I think my mash might have been a little on the warm side - started at 158*F, and an hour later it had dropped to 153.5*F. I would have liked it to have been around 152*F, but it’s done. I’ll check a bottle next weekend.
Earlier today, I checked gravity on my Deschutes Fresh Squeezed IPA (1.009), and added my dry hops. That brew will be ready to bottle between Wednesday and Saturday. Sample looked, smelled and tasted good.

Just had one of those last night!
Due to covid I haven’t been able to get in quite a while. The one local store that had it closed.

Overshot my gravity by 6-8 points. Maybe because I used double crushed grain? I set efficiency at 65% and this was 72%. Home brew supply will be my base grain go to until I get a mill

I get 99% of the commercial brew that I buy from our state run retailer, the LCBO (Liquor Control Board of Ontario), or as the kids call it the Lickbo. They make a heap of dough in taxes, so it is considered an essential service!

Funny thing is that they shortened the hours, and started closing on Mondays when we went into lockdown. So, people are drinking more, and the store is open less. Not much logic there if you ask me. There are people lined up outside the building, and the poor staff are working much harder, but getting fewer hours:confused:

Basically with that store closing I have no close access to Boddingtons, Fullers, Hobgoblin, Old Speckled Hen or Hofbrauhaus. Not to mention other imports id occasionally buy. My Kroger does have Bass and New Castle. Pretty much nothing German.

When I started getting my grain double-crushed, my efficiency went up about that same amount.
