the link to this guy is just a reseller, no inhouse knowledge eventually told me to go to kegland direct - waste of time broThat's pretty much what I use, only it's 1/4 barrel (28 liter). It's not very shiny, but it works really well.

That’s the ones I’ve been using for about 5 years. I’ve ended up with 3 now. That's pretty much what I use, only it's 1/4 barrel (28 liter). It's not very shiny, but it works really well.
According to their website: 7 gal is for 5.5 gallon batches, 14 is for up to 11 gallons. So, yes. And for that price, it’s a steal.I didn’t want to start a new thread for a quick question that relates to this. Was looking at the Black Friday sale over at SSBT. Can you do 6-7 gallon batches in the Unitank 2.0 14 gallon? It looks like the jacket only goes half way up the main part of the tank.
I talked to customer service at SSBT and they said 60% of listed volume so 14gal is 8-8.5gal. Was hoping it would be a little lower.According to their website: 7 gal is for 5.5 gallon batches, 14 is for up to 11 gallons. So, yes. And for that price, it’s a steal.
That’s maximum or minimum? I think the 7 gal is iffy for more than 5, and my 7 gallon spike says it is not rated for pressure fermenting. They told me in the phone there isn’t enough headspace if the krausen rises too far. Clogs up the pressure release.I talked to customer service at SSBT and they said 60% of listed volume so 14gal is 8-8.5gal. Was hoping it would be a little lower.
hmm thats a well known hazard with cooking utensil pressure cookers - foaming ingredients blocking up pressure release valves and the lid blowing off - very dangerously spraying boiling liquid around.
Thing with a blocked valve above is that it continuously vents a hissing pressure relief - so its ok. When it stops hissing - time to act - eg you can momentarily lift the valve weight, may clear the block if not the turn off immediately and leave to cool or put under a running tap.
Is there a fail safe mechanism in a pressure ferment vessel - dont think so - pls advise.
But dont you also use a pressure gauge on the vessel? The access to that can also block. Isnt there a lever that you use to depressurise the cylinder? A flip on that would show the pressure gauge working?
That goes on the gas ball-lock. The red regulator on the left keeps your fermenter at the set pressurethanx for those pix very instructive. I havent looked closely before at Keg fittings. what is that fitting on the right, light grey, does that push fit straight on top of the centre male part with o ring - you would have to have it connected to a shut off valve and tube first or bad news. sorry to seem dumb
If the keg has pressure, pushing the grey gas fitting on will open the valve on the keg post, and if nothing is connected to the fitting, the gas will leak out.thanx for those pix very instructive. Nice set up, I am seriously considering one of these. I have all the attachments already so it seems like a no brainer really. That’s the ones I’ve been using for about 5 years. I’ve ended up with 3 now.
They have standard fittings widely available and are easy to mod yourself too.View attachment 30768View attachment 30769
