Second Brew Day

Not exactly the panic you want to deal with when at the time you’re several beers deep and a bourbon and right before you’re about to go to bed. Crisis averted tho.

It happens.

Look in to getting floating dip tubes. Keeps the stuff that settles from being draw in

Oh that looks perfect. Definitely going to invest in that. Thanks for the recommendation.

Needs more carbonation and a lot of sediment in this pour but it's damn good.

Been holding the gas at 12psi since I had that dip tube situation but I lost some of that initial forced carb I did originally. I wanted to have some people over Friday to try it so I turned it up to about 28psi this AM and going to let that sit until at least this evening. Might let it go 24hrs.

I try not to overfill the corny and make an honest attempt to not get much trub in the keg. I think the amount of hops you were using were either part or most of the problem.
One of the other things I learned (thanks to people on this forum and an issue I had) is not to hook up the liquid line until you are ready to serve. Under pressure and not monitored, the clamps on the tubing can make a big mess at high PSI.

If it has been sitting at 12psi for more than week, it should fine. If you over carb, you will have a foam monster.

You must bring balance to the force!

Lol ok ok, I’ll turn it back down to 12. A lot of the CO2 was purged when I was trying to get the dip tube unclogged over the weekend so I figured I reset it so to speak.

Nope, it won't come out of suspension that fast. Especially when it is cold.

I have had ones i overcarbed and turned the gas off for week to the get it down a bit.

Just wondering, since we are talking carbonation
Wouldn't force carbonation not go faster if you would attach the CO2 to the liquid post?
It would then be injected inside the beer.
It would obviously stir up any form of trub, but that would happen as well if you shake or roll the keg around as as suggested in a lot of places
Inquiring minds want to know....

If you roll and shake it as well, yes. Otherwise, after the initial inrush, it would be same. Just surface contact.

Only ever so slightly, as the co2 bubbles made their way to the top.

Good question. I was wondering that when I cleared out the dip tube by hooking up the gas to the liquid out.

You can carb beer in about 30 minutes if you need to. The roll and shake method or this

I poured a half of a pint yesterday. Still isn't fully carbed but it's not bad. When you drink it you can feel the carbonation bubbles. Just not getting the head when you pour. I took the corny out and rolled it for 20 minutes hoping to get some more carbonation in there for tonight.
