Just went out to fire up the smoker. He didn’t want to leave.

Indeed. Those books were in a steel trunk.
Luckily not all were eaten. Some are still OK, others just readable, but about 6 will go as fire lighters

We have the largest termite species in the world up north Australia Mastotermes Darwiniensis they are responsible for 100 of thousands of dollars damage there.

I herd stories of them chewing their way through mining truck tires batteries and I've personally condemned a house not fit for living in because of their destruction.

Not an insect to take litely most people do though keeps me busy:D

After 2 years, it finally got me. Thankful for very mild symptoms...
