A small plastic figurine that I paint to use in my fantasy gaming. I will post a picture of my first model when I am done painting him. What is a table top mini?
Just paint for the enjoyment of painting, War gaming is a little much for my low level of brain powerDo you war game them too or just paint?
Sorry for the late response, but yup. 2 farriers rasps welded together and then shaped. No mild at all, all rasp, which makes it look cool. That looks great! From the name I assume you forge welded rasps onto both ends with mild steel in the middle?
YesAs far as fretboards go, I buy bare necks with fretboard and frets installed, then shape the headstocks and apply finishes. I buy blank boards for the bodies and cut & shape them with a bandsaw, a router and sandpapers.
My finishes are always done in nitrocellulose lacquer with a small compressor and a spray gun. Getting a good finish on a guitar is the same as a good paint job on a car- it's all in the prep. Grain filler, sanding sealer, and multiple grades of sanding until the body is really smooth, then color coats, many clear coats, and weeks letting the lacquer cure & harden. Next is wet sanding in progressively finer grades up to 4000, then polishing with automotive polishes; I use Meguiar's products.
