Greetings from Virginia

Welcome, Kai.

I also am on the autism spectrum and very familiar with the need to plan things. Basic will get the job done. You may feel comfortable staying that way as I have with a few tweaks here and there or the need to challenge yourself further (gold star for stating the obvious). It took me over thirty years to try dry hopping one thing I bitterly regret not doing earlier. Reading through your shopping list I reckon you will be having a very interesting start to the hobby. There is some great experience and support here if you get stuck with anything.

i actually expanded that list after that. all of my ingredients have been selected, in a way that allows me an enormous range of freedom. all the equipment im getting is the simple basics. while still letting me do any process i want. i likely have about a dozen recipes or ideas in my noodle to try, and i come up with new ones, probably one or two a day. so yep definetly stating the obvious lol. last idea, i had earlier today, included using juniper and blueberries as a additive or gruit base for a winter styled drink.

i actually think i will try dry hopping, as its stated that it adds more flavor and aroma over the bitterness, and that in some cases can bring out something better in a particular recipe or drink style. i find dry hopping interesting as a process, well i find them all interesting really. except wine, just dont like the stuff, and kombucha cause i still dont know what it is. nobody needs to tell me though, im going to go look it up as part of my daily brew studies.

oh..its just weird tea.
