Fun with Isolation

I was thinking that the other day. I've got like a years supply cause I don't go through a lot, however that's like 4 days for my wife so I'm a bit nervous.

We were going to play that game at work last week during lunch! But we couldn't play Pandemic because we were all working from home due to the pandemic! :D
 
Just finished up on a large liquor run. Denver just issued a "stay at home" order thru April 10th, so I'm guessing the whole state will follow suit shortly. Crazy times for sure!
 
After the mass lines and mayhem at liquor stores they're not allowing them to stay open lol. Don't mess with a man's (woman's) drink!
 
Polis is still not issuing a state-wide order. The order applies to the City and County of Denver only. Here in Aurora, we are not affected by it. The order may be coming but it's not here yet. SWAMBO and I are voluntarily isolating ourselves, it ain't that bad.
 
"small rant" My city is safe, but hording is still happening and only 4 cases so far, I think they fear the worst from watching the news, I've turned the news off because they just keep pissing me off, 1/2 of the news is run by tabloid people and you shouldn't believe a word they say, a quarter are just repeaters, you hear it somewhere else and they just repeat it and over and over

Ect ECT just started this week here in Aus.
And I'm.betting buy the start of next week I'll be hickup ing my way through HOME brew sitting at home the way it's going.
300 cases just yesterday in Aus and that's the confirmed ones ....

Just was talking to a nurse works at local hospital I was like oh youse gearing up for the influx she said huh were already full of people just walking through the door presenting with symptoms

Pubs and restaurants were closed last week. You can still get restaurant food, just have to pick up, or get delivery. Something tells me that is about to halt. Best buy, and other non essential retail will be shut down.
 
We are all locked up here in Squamish BC Canada. With Whistler 45min away we had to many tourists running through, my work being a ski coach is done as everything has stopped. It is a blessing, we have 2 school age kids so I’m home for them,, all schools are pretty much done for this year. We have all the supplies we need. My wife is a RCMP officer so she is front line and mandated to work through the entire process.
I’m just going to have to brew at least once a week I guess

Non essential businesses were ordered closed at 5pm last night here in maryland. They aren't arresting anyone yet for staying out, but I think theyll be locking down tighter by end of week.
I really dont like the lockdown, psuedo police state vibe at all, but god damn it people won't listen and are treating this like a joke

They're closing them in Denver but fortunately, breweries are exempt - apparently our Government has realized what most of history knew, that breweries are essential to civilization! So far, no lockdown in Aurora. Thunderwagn, I have to bow low in your general direction, an order is forthcoming. I expect the Metro Area will go on much the same pattern as Denver. SWAMBO and I are stocked for a few weeks, have no need to go out except on our daily walks. We'll get through this.

We've laid low for the past two weeks also. I went to the liquor store yesterday and a local brewery to pick up a keg, but other than that outside contact with anyone has been very limited. I'd really like to praise the liquor store and brewery for how well business is being handled to not only protect the customer, but employees as well. Online ordering, payment, and pick up is a great option and really helps these guys survive.
My wife is right on the front line and things aren't good at all for them. There's very limited PPE and it would really help if people would just listen and do as they're being instructed to do.
 
We're thinking of doing a LHBS run (the Brew Hut) later this afternoon before Aurora gets locked down. I've ordered a malt mill. My sister is a nurse in Kentucky - one case so far at her hospital but same problems otherwise. If you're down in Denver, give Martin Vargas at Cerviseria Raices some love - you'll get a damned good beer in return!
 
Starting this morning our Walmart Super Center is open to seniors only, from 6AM, an hour before opening for everyone else at 7. There was a line of probably close to 100 seniors waiting when the doors opened. The shelves were surprisingly well stocked, though brand selection wasn't great. We got everything on our list, including liquid hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes. They even had TP. There were limits on the most hoarded items.
Still no cases of COVID-19 here in Fallon. Our biggest worry is the number of military personnel that transfer in and out of the Naval Air Station just outside of town. It's the top gun training center, so lots of people come and go.
