Several sources say that WY1007 is the yeast from Zum Uerige, which is a famous Altbier pub in Duesseldorf.

I can't believe how young and ignorant I was when I was over there. Never even made it to Dusseldorf. I was lucky to be stationed in an area where Alt was served. I could have been a little bit farther south and been stuck with Bock and Schwartzbier, or, Gambrinus help me, in frakkin Koln. I kid the Kolners, because I care. Seriously, Kolsch is fine beer...for invalids, women and children. In all seriousness, I would love to do a European beercation, and if I did D-dorf would be one of two mandatory stops, the other being Burton on Trent.
