Citra Forward West Coast IPA Recipe?

I did 3.5oz of both citra and mosaic in the whirlpool and then I dry hopped with 4oz of citra hash and 2oz of mosaic pellets.
I guess that was a 1/2 gallon batch of Wayner’s? ;);) I used well over a pound in my batch.

Haha yeah, I scaled it down to roughly a 6 gallon batch. Honestly meant to only do 3oz’s in the whirlpool but I don’t think it’s gonna be a bad mistake.

It is not a bad mistake.

I cold crashed for 3 days and popped on CO2 this AM at 35psi. Going to let that go for 2-2.5 days. Question though is if I'm burst carbonating it and do the roll technique, doesn't that defeat the purpose of the cold crash letting everything fall and clear out or am I missing something else?

High PSI is to serve it quickly. If you wanted a beer to settle for a week, set at 12 or so and leave it there.

A bit. I only do the shake/roll when first kegged, then let it be (at 35-40 psi) for 2-3 days

If you are fermenting and serving in the same vessel then I do the high psi CO2 & roll method, as soon as fermentation is done. Then start the cold crash.

Note that CO2 dissolves into water better at 38 F than at 68F. But in any case it’ll end up the same.

I cold crashed it at 33 for 3 days then bumped it up to serving temp 37-38. I’ve had it at 35psi for the last 1.5 days with a couple rolls in there. I’ll turn it down to 12psi tomorrow and hopefully have some good pours this weekend.

So I’m having an issue. I filled up my corny pretty full and it’s been carbing but when I went to try and pour tonight I’m getting nothing. There was some sludge but nothing crazy so I didn’t think it’d be clogged. I popped the gas on the liquid line a couple times to try and clear it out. When it does pour it’s super slow trickle. If I lift the liquid QD off just a bit it’ll pick up. CO2 is flowing as should. No clue. Any ideas?

Another learning lesson. I *think* it was a combo of the dip tube being clogged and over filled. I cranked up the psi to like 30 and got it to start blasting out. After that went down to 12 and it poured perfectly. The couple of dump pints prior were sludgy gross and flat but the last one was decently carbed and tasty. Weird.

I cut my liquid tubes about 1/2” shorter to avoid exactly that.

Pouring better tonight but still not where it should be. Tasting delicious. Should get better with time I would think.

My thoughts exactly. Gonna have a couple pints tonight….for science.

Ended up having to dump out a 1/3 of a keg unfortunately. We were out of town and our kegerator was on the covered patio. Temps dropped down to the single digits and when we got home, it wasn't pouring anymore. Couldn't fix it. Took everything apart after dumping and out port was completely jammed full of gunk. Even after trying to blast it with CO2 a few times, it never fixed it. I think the cold weather shot everything up the dip tube and forced beer out.

I will be making it again.

I ordered a FLOTit 2.0 floating dip tube off Amazon. Saw it recommended in a couple YouTube reviews. I know a couple of y'all recommended a floating dip tube in the past for sludge issues I had with IPAs. going to switch that over next time I do a brew.
