Base Malt comparison project

Okay I've concluded that the Victory is sweet, biscuity, malty, and a teetch nutty. I used 10% here, which is probably too much to use again. I think it would make a good addition in a malty beer in a smaller amount
Funny. I find it dry and nutty - biscuity yes - but mostly dry and nutty.
 
Base Jumper is back! This batch is Vienna. Mashing in smelled a lot like the Maris Otter batch, oddly enough. Sweet and biscuity even tho this finished relatively dry (1.010). Lil bit of caramel. It's nice!

And Munich type 1 (6L). What a color! During dough in on the batch there was a spicy, cracker aroma that reminded me of rye bread, which I was not expecting! Not as sweet as the Vienna or MO, but there's a malty flavor I can't quite put my finger on. Reminiscent of very very very faint rye (so probably not rye :D), but hopefully over time I'll be able to pin it down
