Adding new Tilt to Pi when another Tilt is using it...

I have the Pi about practically right next to it, about 5-6' away.

I tried to use the local IP address and wasn't getting anything but now that they're both up on there and running, in the future I should be good to go. Sorry for the headache. Thank you.
not a problem, just figured we needed to start from scratch and make sure we were on the same page. not sure what the issue was, but seems to be working now. sometimes the tiltpi just has to be rebooted too, if it is doing weird shit.

If the local IP address is inconvenient, use
http://tiltpi.local:1880/ui
Instead

I have a stainless fermenter, and it sits inside a stainless fridge. The Pi needs to be right against the door gasket to get enough signal from the tilt. If you monitor the tilt pi, it shows a signal level like '-86 dBm'. Since it is a negative number, the closer to zero it is, the stronger the signal. Anything less than about -95 is too weak.

I hear ya. Mines in a stainless fermenter and the Pi is like 5 feet from it and I’m in the -85 to -95 range. Short of hanging over my dog shower wall I can’t get much better.

If the pi is only updating every 30 or more seconds - there's a little timer next to the signal reading - that can cause problems.

Even moving from 5 to 4 feet will make a difference.
