Notes
This Irish Red Ale is inspired by Dublin's gritty lower town docklands. This style is a malt-focused ale with an initial sweetness and a roasted dryness in the finish. You will find it's an easy drinking pint with a characteristic deep reddish hue, a true working man's ale.
Boil:
- Begin heating 2.8 gal (10.7L) of water to boil
- Steep grain until water reaches 77C, then remove and discard
- When water reaches a boil start timer at 60min
- Add 1.33oz East Kent Golding hop pellets.
- With 15min remaining, add all dry malt extract (DME) to boil.
- Timer: 0 min. Remove from heat source
Fermentation:
- 14 days
