02-2020:

* Used filtered KUB water from kitchen tap
* 1.75 tsp gypsum, 0.5 tsp epsom, 0.5 tsp CaCl in mash (not sparge)


10-2019:

* Kroger Spring water
* 1 gram of gypsum and calcium chloride per gallon of both sparge and mash water.
* 0.25 grams of epsom salt per gallon to both mash and sparge water.
* 0.25 grams of baking soda to mash water.

In 8.5 gallons of total water, I used about 1.5 tablespoons gypsum, 1 tablespoon calcium chloride, 1/2 teaspoon epsom salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda.

Notes

02-29-2020:

  • split finished wort into two fermenters: one using US04 (pitched at 70F), and the other using Kveik harvested from recent batch (pitched at 84F). Kveik started bubbling within an hour. US04 had discernible activity within 18hrs.
  • 60m, 5m, and WP hop/hemp charges were in muslin bags. The 30m addition was free floating.
