Notes

A fairly aggressive braggot, not so much due to the ABV as the smoke, dryness and Belgian yeast. The flavor is quite full, but without the caramel or syrup flavors that can come with dark beers.

Liked by most who have tried it so far (one single exception), would recommend. I'm working on a followup.

This turned out surprisingly well. It's fairly aggressive (high ABV, belgian yeast, smoked and roasted malt will do that, I guess), but in a very clean, pleasant way. Quite dry, which I like.

In the future, I might up the ABV a tiny bit, replace the Carafa III with a more flavorful chocolate malt, use a tad more peated malt and try out some more suitable hops (Southern Cross worked ok, but could probably be improved).
