Notes
Going for a piney, grapefruity IPA, with plenty of bitter bite, finishing clean with slight juiciness. Addition of cranberries after a few days for color and tartness.
Wort SG 1.043 = 62% efficiency (sparge issues)
Boiled only 40 minutes because.
- -
OG 1.057 (adjusted efficiency to 69% to match OG)
- -
7 days - SG 1.026 Cooked down12oz fresh cranberries in jar of reserved wort for 40 min. Added 1oz of chinook with 10 min left. Cooled and added to fermentor.
- -
11 days - SG 1.026 Not nearly as planned on. Very little to no taste or color from cranberries. Still tastes pretty good; fruity from the hallertau mittelfruh. Moving downstairs to cold crash ~56° for 2-3 days prior to kegging.
- -
14 days - SG 1.026 Moved upstairs, added gelatin. Will keg tomorrow. Tastes good. Juicy with hint of tartness. Light.
