Notes

36 gal water treated with 20 g cal chlroide and 20 g gypsum
Cereal mash 8# raw whea and 7.2# of pils
didnt stir enough- some scorching
boil 30 min
add 2.5 gal cold water to bring to mash temp at 151
hold infusion with no recirc until add cereal mash
hold at 151 for 15
circ and mashout for 20 min
send to kettle through filter
mash with 15 gal h20 and rest of grain then sparge with 15 gal
pre-boil: 26 gal
second mash not scorched on cereal side
smelled much better
possibly 0 influence in final product
numbers:
first batch:
first runnings: 5.27 pH 15.4 P
pre-boil: 26 gal 5.3 pH 11.9P
post-boil: 20 gal 5.13 pH 13.9P

batch 2:
first runnings: 5.34 ph 14.1P (much thinner than first mash; more water to cool cereal mash to mash temp instead of adding to mash out like first batch...adding to mash out would be more efficient in the long run.)
pre-boil:
all numbers very similar and ended with 13.7P OG in tank...1.055 OG very close to predicted
pitched 130 g US-05 @ 8pm 12/2/2018
hydrated in 35C wort for 15 min...stir plate for 15 min then pitch
