Notes
Partial Mash Option:
- Steep the crushed grains in 1.2 gallons of water at 152*F for 45 minutes. (Will use 5 Gals.)
- Pull the grain bag out and drain over the pot in a colander.
- Rinse the grains with 1.5 qts. of water at 170*F.
- Add water to make 3 gallons in the kettle. (Top up to 6 Gal.)
- Stir in the dry malt extract, and bring to a boil.
- Boil for 60 minutes adding the hops according to the schedule.
- Cool wort to 170*F before starting whirlpool hop addition.
- Whirlpool for 30 minutes before chilling down to fermentation temp.
- Transfer the cooled wort to the fermenter and top up with cool water to make 5 gallons. Bring to 68*F. [OG - 1.065]
- Aerate the wort and pitch the yeast.
- Ferment at 70*F.
- Dry Hop for 3 days in a secondary.
- Bottle or keg as usual.
