2L yeast starter @ 70 degrees for 24 hrs

6.5 gal of strike water. Ended up with ~5.25 in the pot and 4.5 post boil. Efficiency was so much higher this time that I was able to dilute to 5 gal no probem.

Note: this beer has potential but it definitely had its fair share of problems

  • wayyyy overdid it on the cloves. I would dial back all the dried spices but especially the cloves.
  • really yeasty. The yeast didn't flocculate well. Will try gelatin fining next time
