Notes
4oz of coarse ground Pachamama Ethiopian Yergacheffe Hambala Coffee added to secondary for 7 days.
Chocolate and roasted malt aromas. Robust and dominant coffee flavors, with berry notes. Barely sweet, not acidic or coffee-bitter. Mouthfeel approaching a milk stout, but no lactose in this recipe. Smooth bitter finish from hops.
We had a stuck mash for this brew, forcing us to empty the mash tun, clean it out, and rebuild the mash bed. Next time, add rice hulls to break up the structure.
