Notes
This simple recipe is a modification of the American Wheat kit from MoreBeer (KIT125). My changes:
- 6 lbs of DME instead of 5
- All 6 lbs are Bavarian wheat DME (which is already a mix of wheat and barley malt)
- 2 oz of Hallertau additions. I used German Tradition from morebeer
This beer is hoppy for a wheat, but still much tamer than PA's or IPAs. Very subtle hop finish that balances the initial blast of flavor from the wheat.
I go ahead and cold crash this beer to clear it up, since cloudiness from US-05 isn't going to add any desirable flavors.
