This was meant as a refreshing light wheat beer with a watermelon flavor. We took it on vacation to the beach and it worked well for that purpose. I used a kit and made adjustments to my style. I added some Amarillo hops and changed from safale 06 which came with the kit, to a safale 05 which is an ale yeast. The concern going into it was that the 4oz of watermelon flavoring that came with the kit would cause the beer to be a bit Jolly Rancher-ish. I think if I was to brew again, I would use 3 oz of the watermelon flavoring. In most bottles it was almost too much watermelon. I was hoping the citrus of the Amarillo would balance the watermelon. It was lost to the watermelon. The color was dark for a wheat, head was generous. I tried it with some different foods and the flavor profile was not significantly different between foods. On a 1 to 5 scale with 5 being a highly enjoyable beer, I'm giving it a 3.0. It was very drinkable and served its purpose on the beach.
