I wouldn't call this a true imperial ipa its a nice medium weight ipa. It is delicious with prominent grapefruit, pine and apricot aroma that fades with age. The taste notes are citrus ruby red grapefruit and a medium mouthfeel. Nicely balanced malt and bitterness that makes this beer very drinkable. When I described the taste notes ahead of time to my wife- a non ipa drinker- she loved it as a second beer. At just under 6.5 it's not exactly sessionable but the flavour is so robust you will want to savour this one. I tried to find a commercial brew to compare it to and the closest it comes to is a Bells 2 hearted double the citrus. I am fermenting a second batch of this one now.
