Notes

Target mash temperature was 164F. Actually hit 162F and after 90 minutes, final Tmash was 157F. Collected 4+ gallons of wort (e.g. 4.1 gallons of 1.057 BG). Adjusted the efficiency from 70% to 65% to equal the BG. Adjusted the Hop amounts slightly downward to get an estimated BU/GU of 1.64. Final volume in the fermentor was 3.0 gallons.

Larmannjp: Pours dark brown/black w/ a dark tan head. You can taste some chocolate and the dryness and astrigency from the patent malk, but the nutty malt flavors of the brown malt come through as well. Very nice finish. Amazing to me that it is balanced and not overly hoppy based on the numbers. The residual sugar is balancing the beer out. Can't wait to taste this over time through 2015. I will brew this again, with the only change being a slight increase in brown malt and a slight decrease in black, patent malt. Will try to get all UK malt as well, for the next go around.
