Target Water Profile
Edmonton April 2022
Notes
Straightforward easy-drinking saison. Single-hopping with sterling. I'm testing a new bag of hops from Northwest Hops, anticipating pleasant noble spice with orange citrus.
Brew day 24Mar2025
- Blending mash water: 2.25gal tap + 1.25gal RO = 3.5gal.
- 1.8ml lactic. Est pH = 5.49. Act. pH = 5.56. Added 1.6ml extra lactic. Act. pH #2 = 5.34.
- OG = 5.7gal @ 10.8 brix (1.043). 81% eff.
Kegging 15Apr2025
- FG = 1.000.
- Noted astringency on the gravity sample. The initial high mash pH from including tap water may have been a mistake. Will taste again when carbonated and chilled.
