Hop aroma is pleasant, NZ fruity, but no passionfruit/tropical bomb by any stretch. Flavour wise the Munich makes itself known, a bit of caramel on the finish that blends nicely with the bitterness (which definitely doesn't taste like 100IBU).

I would guess backing off on the specialty malts would let the hops shine more but to be honest this tastes like the ESBs from the Twisted Hop about 10 years ago. Those are some of my favourite beers.

It doesn't take your face off but rather sits there, the bitterness lingering and encouraging you to come back for more. Defs more evidence that the common IBU calcs are inadequate. SMPH has my vote

Defs no need of Caramel/Crystal malts, the Munich and Biscuit do a great job in providing the malt backbone that is often missing in IPAs these days #FuckHazyIPA

Very approachable and inoffensive and since one of my three taps is taken up by a cider (yawn) it presents a nice contrast to the Pils.

Next time I'll probably up the IBU, pull back on the specialties and get it a little drier.
