2.5 liter starter culture 1.036 for 36 hours of California Ale yeast to build up sufficient yeast.
Used new Bacbrewing top plate to allow for more grain capacity, mashed with 24 liters of water.
1 hour mash 1.050
1 hour 10 min mash 1.057
1 hour and 30 minute mash 1.060
1 hour and 45 minute mash 1.062
2 hour mash 1.064
post sparge and boil start, 19-20 liters at 1.066, next time sparge with more water.
efficiency was very low....
sparge with 2.5 liters of 55c water and let drain.
brought back to 19 liters, SG was 1.073
hops were:
CH Bio Columbus 14% (CHBIO006)
Centennial 8.9%
Simcoe 12.1%
On 16 Aug it was 1.012 gravity and the Krausen has fallen, started with the first dry hopping. Lowered the temperature of the fermenter to 60F. August 30 we can add the next hops.
