Notes

A balanced amber/brown ale, with firm English hop profile and stonefruit character from the yeast.

04May2024 Brew Day

  • Mash pH est. = 5.58. Act. = 5.49.
  • OG = 5.5 gal @ 1.051 (74% eff)

    25May2024 kegging
  • FG = 1.010. 5.4% abv and 80% attenuation. Hmm.
  • Tastes good. Has body, malt and yeast aroma. Tiny, slow moving bubbles look nice in the glass. Has a thick foamy cap, and good head retention. Decent flavor hop presence balances the malt. Balanced aromas too. Designed originally as an amber ale, but the colour is darker than srm predictions. The chocolate malt is detectable but subtle.
