Notes
3/12/24
1 LB Briess Brewers 2-row DME
8 oz Black Patent
6.3 LB LME briess LME Golden light
Safale US-05
6 oz sugar
1 oz Mt Hood hops 30
Put about 3.5 gallons of water into the kettle the night before
Heated water to 157, steeped grains for 25 minutes
Tried to keep the water around 155 for 25 minutes<br />
Once I removed the grains I added heat and added the DME and LME
Boiled the wort for 30 minutes with hops
Cooled the wort to 67, transferred to fermenter and pitched yeast
OG 1.079. Fig. 1.014. 9.0 ABV
Fermentation was closer to 70/71 instead of 67. I found the tube in the blow off tank was above the waterline, never did bubble (ouch!)
