This beer is an IPA designed to place the unique El Dorado hop at center stage. Opaque orange-yellow in color with floral aromas of lime zest, grapefruit peel, pine sap, and candied orange. Juicy, hop-driven flavors of bright citrus, melon, and herbal pine are balanced with medium bitterness, fluffy mouthfeel, and dry finish.
14 AAU Columbus hops (60 min.) (1 oz./28 g at 14% alpha acids)
14 AAU Columbus hops (10 min.) (1 oz./28 g at 14% alpha acids)
2.5 oz. (71 g) Columbus hops (hop stand), 82C for 30 minutes
5 oz. (142 g) El Dorado hops (dry hop)
1.5 oz. (43 g) Columbus hops (dry hop)
Preboil gravity = 1.054 g/ml (before glucose addition late boil)
Postboil gravity = 1.069 g/ml
Final gravity 1.012 g/ml
ABV 7.5%
Ferment at 68F
Day 4 or so as Krausen starts to drop, add the dry hops, and let sit for 4 days. (gravity of about 1.025 g/ml at hop addition)
Ramp to 72 for two days
Cold crash and keg.
