This brew is a second running from my Office Bird Collaboration. After brewing the Hazy IPA (21C), I reused the grains. Rinse to achieve 6 gallons, then add the DME. The DME is the only fermentable addition in this recipe. As noted in the recipe, I performed a 15-minute boil and used the hops I had on hand.
The grain bill was reused (parti-gyle), the DME was left over from another brew, and the hops were remainders from previous brews or items I won from my brew club. The yeast was a starter given to me by another home brewer. Altogether, that makes this a "free beer". My biggest expense was water (and time).
My OG came in at 1.045 so I adjusted the grain bill in this recipe to match if you want to use this as a first-run brew.
