Brewhouse efficiency was quite low on this particular batch.
Possible reasons include the mash being more on the thicker side (increase the volume of strike water) as well as loss of heat from mash and lauter tuns. Pitched yeast on 6/4/2023 at ~6:45 PM EST at ~75°F. OG was 1.053 on 6/4/2023. Set cooler to 56°F for wort to ferment. After ~42 hours, active fermentation had not begun. A new pack of Imperial L13 yeast was pitched on 6/6/2023 at ~12:30 PM EST.
FG on 6/19/2023 was 1.008 for a final ABC of 5.91%.
