3 packs US-05 in 2.5gal DME starter decanted to ~12oz thick slurry (~900B cells).
For last step, direct fired mash to 160 then added 4 gal of 160 water to top-off mash and then recirculate. Aiming to increase pre-boil grav/eff by withholding some fluid until end of mash.
Added 1 lb DME in last few minutes of boil
Keg'd on Day 20 (9/19/23). Added half pack of CBC to cellaring keg along with 3oz DME solution. Plan to cellar keg over the fall/winter in 50*ish garage then bottle off samples in 2024/2025 as needed.
