Notes
Goal is a SN Torpedo clone:
- massive pine/resin
- heavy, old-skool bitterness (ca 50 IBU)
- abv: plan to split 10G (40L) batch and go for 6.2% on one, boosting to 7.2% on the other using sugar (inspiration for latter is to follow the Belgians: keep high ABV but still keep it dry and light and drinkable).
- hopping is a conundrum... SN published recipe that's 100% magnum. WTF? Am basically disregarding this entirely. will use magnum to bitter (FWH), but will go with chinook/columbus in 50:50 proportions for flavour and aroma. DH will include 30% simcoe (cos it is delicious and I like it)
