Notes
Chilled quickly to 82C then rested there for >30min
7g yeast nutrient
2g whirlfloc at 15 min
Really stuck sparge. Didn’t drain and also struggled to keep target temp. Heated sparge water towards 100C and mixed increments with mash to raise temp. Spent around two hours on this horror!
Bottled it all in brew shed. (Plastic fermenter). Great result. Some astringency; consider lower bittering hops and or more compatible hop combo next time; but also potentially due to grain astringency from trying to recover the mash
