Notes
This was a very disappointing brew. IOt was VERY pale but paradoxically SO bitter (and I love super-bitter). It seemed to give an insta-headache and was not a session beer at all. With some ester-like home-brew flavours to it. Mediocre.
The hops used were quite old, and I think I boiled too much for too long - and possibly the yeast style was not suited. Maybe the water I got (tricky in lockdown) was too-mineral... As well as all this I used caster sugar instead of brewers sugar for the bottling; and also I think my SS conical had a tiny air leak in the system (not enough to spoil, but enough to prevent the fermentor bubbling as expected) - so will make sure I vaseline all the seals up loads next time too.
I have put up a v2 which is more styled to a darker bitter, without losing sweetness of a golden/pale ale (I hope!!)
