Notes
  • The thermometer switch is 1.8oC high at ~70oC
  • Mash tun drops about 3 oC from starting temp over an hour
  • Pre-heated mash tun with warm water
  • Heated kettle to 74oC (75.8oC on thermometer switch)
  • Dropped to 66.9oC after adding grain: -9oC (in kitchen)
  • Had to add a kettle of boiling water (2l) - have included this up above. Was aiming for 15l mash but ended with 17l. Prob had 10mins extra at the lower initial start temp prior to starting the clock on the 60 mins
  • Actual mash start temp 67.4oC true
  • had to add 11l of hot water instead of 7l. Possibly due to not being boiling and possibly due to using Pyrex jug.
