Mashed at 148 for about an hour. Plan was 45 minutes but dog walk went long.
Pulled about 1.5 gallons of thick mash and heated to 165-172 for 15 minutes then boiled for 15 minutes. |

Adding decoction back raised to only about 156-158.
Used grainfather to raise to 160, let run for probably 30-40 minutes. Wasn't recirculating well.

Pulled a decoction a bit less than the last.
Boiled for 20-25 minutes and added back, probably brought mash up to 167-168, finished rise with grainfather.
Recirc for 10-15 minutes. |

6+ gallons into the bottling bucket at about 60-65 degrees to cool to 48 in the fermentation freezer. Put yeast jars in the fermenter as well to be the same temp for pitching. |

Left wort at 48 for about 8-9 hours. Transferred to fv keg and pitched two decanted jars or 2206, oxygen for 1 minute. primary at 48. |

Had about a gallon of extra wort left after filling fermentation keg and pitching yeast. Saved in jars for future starters.
Adjust recipe down to end up with no extra wort next time except about 1/4 gallon to hold the cold break in the bottling bucket. |
