The water I always brew with. Mt Shasta spring water from a glacier on Mt Shasta. Bottled at the source. No additives. That's in California way north up by Oregon.
Quick Water Requirements
Water Gallons  Quarts
Heat water added to kettle (equipment estimates 6.33 g | 25.3 qt) 3.76 15
Mash volume with grains (equipment estimates 6.33 g | 25.3 qt) 4.04 16.2
Grain absorption losses (steeping) -0.44 -1.8
Volume increase from sugar/extract (early additions) 0.68 2.7
Pre boil volume (equipment estimates 6.58 g | 26.3 qt) 4 16
Boil off losses -1.5 -6
Hops absorption losses (first wort, boil, aroma) -0.08 -0.3
Post boil volume 5 20
Going into fermentor 5 20
WARNING: Kettle losses > 2% detected which throw off OG calculation for extract/partial mash recipes in batch target 'fermentor' mode. Solution: Reduce kettle losses, misc losses and hops absorption in equipment profile, OR set batch target to 'kettle' and do a full wort boil. See batch target FAQ.

Notes

An easy brew, a good brew, just remember its not rocket science.....but it is science. .........enjoy. I will brew 4 five gallon batches in plastic fermenters in 2 days, bottle two weeks later. test 2 weeks after that. Then watch all the "Friends" start hangin out Hey by the way these are 213 Calories per brew. Its a real good heavy ale. For max effect wear a Kilt.
