Realized we used 1 gallon less in the mash than we should have. :( As a consequence, oddly enough, we're exactly one gallon short at preboil. Added 1/2 gallon (50% distilled) to check the preboil gravity; will add more if necessary |

beautiful golden color. Cooled to <100 oF and threw in the fridge (48 oF). Going to add 1/2 gal distilled water to bring down the abv (we had a 10% increase in brew house efficiency due to our having a lower preboil volume), and also pitch tomorrow. |
