This is a gravity measured after mashing and dry malt extract is added. Measure before boiling. |

OG too low. Because of the sludge left at the bottom of the kettle?
updated Jul30. Sparging was too fast. Need to reduce flow rate and add more time to allow sparge water to dilute sugar from the grain ! |

After kicking off on day2. The beer resulted in an amber color today. Spiciness from Saaz hops came rightaway. A pleasant tangy and sweet half fermented wort to sample. Looking forward to diacetyl rest and lagering. |

Beer tastes drier than two days ago. But still fairly sweet. Luckily that sweet is balanced with a spiciness from Saaz hops. |

The beer improves over the time. The funny sweet taste disappear at the end of October (2.5 months) after fermentation.
Not an ideal lager but still a drinkable lager for a hot tiring brewday. |

At the very end of the keg. This beer is drinkable. Carbonation finally found the spot at around 10psi. Still have that lingering sweetness that should disappear if the beer is brewed next time. May be less Vienna to make the beer lighter in color and sweetness. |
