Grain absorption losses (steeping) -1.8
Mash Lauter Tun losses -0.9
Volume increase from sugar/extract (early additions) 1.1
Pre boil volume (equipment estimates 26.5 L) 11
Boil off losses -5.7
Hops absorption losses (first wort, boil, aroma) -0.8

WARNING: Kettle losses > 2% detected which throw off OG calculation for extract/partial mash recipes in batch target 'fermentor' mode. Solution: Reduce kettle losses, misc losses and hops absorption in equipment profile, OR set batch target to 'kettle' and do a full wort boil. See batch target FAQ.

Notes

Five litres of strike and four litres of sparge water used is municipal source with high hardness at ~200 ppm (Ca+). Top up water is reverse osmosis processed.

Mashed grains for 90 minutes at 65 C (+/- 2) [150 +/- 5]. Sparge water was also 65 C (+/- 2) [150 +/- 5]. Boil volume was about 9 litres and boiling pot was 32 litres in capacity.

Top up water was chilled to 8 C and added to cooled wort.

Wort was chilled to 8.5 C, before yeast was pitched. Yeast is slow to bloom at this temperature, so patience is a virtue!
